Our mission
Ourspace is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to activating Lansing’s corridors as premier cultural, wellness, and tourism destinations. Through community-centered education, health and wellness programming, and large-scale cultural events, we create year-round experiences that strengthen community, celebrate diversity, and drive inclusive economic growth.
Ourspace transforms local venues into classrooms and gathering spaces, elevating local artists, supporting small businesses, and cultivating entrepreneurial districts in partnership with residents, organizations, and institutions.
2025 Impact
In 2025, Ourspace Foundation set new records in attendance and economic impact, delivering more than 30 culture and wellness-driven events that generated meaningful revenue for local and regional small businesses, artists, and vendors while activating communities across Lansing and beyond. Building on this momentum, 2026 will be even bigger with expanded programming, larger activations, deeper partnerships, and an even greater impact on culture, tourism, and inclusive economic growth.

517 Juneteenth Weekend
A multi-day cultural festival honoring Black history, creativity, and economic empowerment through music, art, food, education, and community celebration.
517 Hispanic Heritage Weekend
A multi-day celebration uplifting Latinx culture, arts, and community pride with performances, vendors, cultural experiences, and family-friendly programming.
Health & Wellness Series
Quarterly seminars and workshops focused on holistic well-being, paired with a five-part Yoga by the River series designed to support physical, mental, and community health.
A Night at the Soul Lounge
A year-round nightlife and live music series showcasing local and regional artists while creating intentional spaces for connection, culture, and creativity.
